PanCan was the first organization dedicated to fighting pancreatic cancer in a comprehensive way, and for more than two decades, we've grow a nationwide movement tackling the disease from all angles.
We fund transformative research - everything from early detection to innovative new treatment approaches.
We provide information about treatment options, diet and nutrition, support resources and more, and we can answer all your questions along the way.
We work with thousands of grassroots advocates to urge Congress to increase federal research funding for pancreatic cancer, and we get results.
Be part of our movement! You can volunteer locally, participate in a PurpleStride community event or host your own fundraiser.
About five years ago, my journey with the Pancreatic Cancer Action Network (PanCAN) began. I embarked on this path in search of a meaningful way to pay tribute to my dear Mom and Grandpa, both of whom succumbed to the devastating grip of this illness. Today, I proudly serve as the volunteer coordinator for PanCAN's primary fundraising event in Minnesota.
My role revolves around orchestrating an army of volunteers essential to the success of our annual Purple Stride event. Held on the last Saturday of every April, this walk/run is an enjoyable occasion, but it is a bittersweet occasion. Participating in this event gives me a profound sense of purpose, knowing that I am contributing to the fight against this dreadful disease and paying homage to my beloved Mom and Grandpa, who left us too soon due to pancreatic cancer. If you are interested in getting involved or know more about the organization, please feel free to contact me. More information about the organization can be found here https://pancan.org/about-us.
We are the nation’s oldest veterans’ service organization auxiliary. For more than 100 years, we have been serving veterans, service members and their families in countless ways.
Millions of hours, millions of dollars and millions of tributes.
Unwavering Support for Uncommon Heroes®
As a family, we actively contribute our time and efforts to various community organizations. My husband holds the position of Vice President at the Big Lake Food Shelf, serves as the current Commander at the VFW organization, and is a member of the Order of the Cooties. In addition, our son serves as a board member at the Wave Youth Center. Through our involvement with these organizations, we engage in a wide range of community-oriented activities, such as distributing food, assisting veterans' homes, and providing support in nursing homes, among many other initiatives. Giving back to our community is a core value for us, and we are committed to imparting this sense of civic responsibility to our children as well.
